Apology Letter For Trespassing

I want to extend my apologies for trespassing on your property {this past weekend/yesterday/etc.}. I'm sorry I gave you a scare. I was just looking for new places to explore and I thought that your {house/land/etc.} was {empty/unowned/abandoned}. Had I known that it was private property, I never would have {entered/set foot on it}.
